Who can apply?
Advance Payments Program (APP)
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and must have reached the age of majority in the province where their farming operations are located. Eligibility extends to corporations, cooperatives, partnerships, and sole proprietorships.
Ownership of land or equipment is not required. However, applicants must own and insure the commodities for which the loan is being requested.
Commodity Loan Program (CLP)
Applicants must live and farm in the province of Ontario, be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, and must have reached the age of majority in Ontario. Eligibility extends to corporations, cooperatives, partnerships, and sole proprietorships.
Ownership of land or equipment is not required. However, applicants must own and have production insurance on the commodities for which the loan is being requested.
