Wooler, Ont. Farm Wins $4,000 in ACC Equipment Contest
Aug 4, 2026
GUELPH, Ontario – The winners of Agricultural Credit Corporation’s (ACC) recent producer contest are Jeremy and Rachel Deweerd of Stonewall Farms in Wooler, Ontario, selected through a random draw. They will receive $4,000 toward farm equipment of their choosing.
The contest, which ran on ACC’s social media channels from early January through February 28, 2026, celebrated Canadian producers who are actively investing in their operations and planning ahead with financing solutions.
Open to producers in Ontario and British Columbia, participants qualified by applying early for an eligible, completed ACC loan application by the February 28 deadline. Additional entries were earned by engaging online, including following @agcreditcorp, liking and sharing contest posts, and posting stories or photos showcasing farm life.
“Congratulations to Jeremy and Rachel on their win,” said Jaye Atkins, Chief Executive Officer of ACC. “Their operation reflects the innovation and resilience we see across Canadian agriculture, and we’re committed to supporting farmers as they continue to grow and adapt.”
Stonewall Farms operates a Blonde d’Aquitaine beef cattle herd, running a cow-calf operation while also expanding into meat goat production in recent years. In addition, they provide custom haying services to neighbouring farms, managing everything from cutting and baling to wrapping.
Jeremy Deweerd said ACC has played an important role in supporting their business.
“The programs are very helpful with cash flow, especially with the upfront costs for inputs,” he said. “It helps throughout the year and makes things a lot less stressful.”
Through programs like the Advance Payments Program (APP) and Commodity Loan Program (CLP), ACC provides flexible financing to support Canadian producers. The APP offers producers up to $250,000 interest-free, with additional funding available, helping improve cash flow and marketing flexibility. The CLP provides Ontario producers with up to $750,000 annually to support input costs with flexible repayment terms.
“At the end of the day, it’s about helping farmers build strong, resilient operations,” added Atkins.
ACC encourages producers to stay connected through its website and social media channels for future contests, special promotions, and program updates.
